How A Global Engineering Firm Utilized Employee Surveys To Address Insufficient Training

Global Engineering Firm, a mechanical engineering company with 105,000 employees across more than 150 countries, needed a better way to identify the main reason employees were leaving. The company turned to HSD Metrics and its employee/exit survey tools to gather data on turnover causes and uncover what was driving attrition.

HSD Metrics used its survey design and analysis expertise to add branching questions to the survey without disrupting reporting or increasing costs. The results showed that Operations Systems and Service personnel were leaving due to a lack of initial and ongoing training opportunities. With this insight, Global Engineering Firm’s HR team could assess the ROI of added training programs against retention and turnover costs.
