Spendless Shoes, the Australian retail footwear chain with 200+ stores, faced a major growth challenge in 2017 as it planned to open 40 more stores and onboard over 200 new staff. Its manual onboarding and contract process was slow, resource-heavy, and took an average of three weeks from offer to first day, making expansion costly and difficult to manage.
HROnboard streamlined Spendless’ onboarding by digitising the offer-and-acceptance process, allowing new hires to complete tax forms, contracts, and workplace policies online. HROnboard also integrated with Spendless’ payroll system, Expr3ss!, reducing double handling and improving efficiency. The results included a 67% reduction in onboarding resourcing and a 90% reduction in the time between sending an offer and new starter completion, helping Spendless grow without adding staff.
