Life Without Barriers is an Australian not‑for‑profit with 5,600 staff working across 87 locations and more than 440 communities. Facing a surge in hiring (1,500 new starters in FY 2017/18, more than three hires per day), the People, Safety & Culture team found their paper‑based, manual onboarding stretched—typical onboarding took about two and a half weeks and lacked visibility, consistency and efficiency across remote and regional sites.

They centralised recruitment with state-based Recruitment Advisors and implemented HROnboard’s paperless onboarding to automate offers, award interpretation, dynamic contracts, task management and payroll integrations while protecting sensitive data with configurable permissions. The result: onboarding time fell by about 80—from roughly 2.5 weeks to 3–4 days—new hires gave a 93% positive onboarding rating, compliance and security improved, and HR and payroll regained capacity to focus on higher‑value work.
