A HPE Simplivity Case Study
Southbank International School, a 3–18 independent school in central London serving about 1,000 users across three campuses, faced an aging, fragmented IT estate that was slow, unreliable and costly to manage. Legacy servers and manual backup processes caused frequent disruptions to classroom and administrative systems, long recovery times (hours or days), and slow application deployments that tied up IT staff.
The school deployed SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure in a redundant 2+1 OmniCube configuration, replacing a full equipment rack with two 2U nodes and centralizing management via VMware vCenter. The change delivered backups and restores in seconds, a 75% application performance boost, 70:1 data efficiency (477 TB logical on 6.8 TB physical), faster app rollouts (hours vs weeks), simplified operations and lower TCO.
