A HPE Simplivity Case Study
Simac, a Belgian IT solutions integrator, faced a costly, complex legacy environment of HP servers and NetApp storage that slowed provisioning, troubleshooting and growth as it prepared to move operations to a colocation facility. The company needed a technology refresh to simplify operations, improve application performance and strengthen data protection for its remote monitoring and SQL-based services.
Simac deployed SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure—two 2U nodes in the colocation facility with a third node at headquarters for dev/test and DR—and consolidated nearly a full rack into a compact, redundant setup. The result: 2–3x faster response times for database queries, instant provisioning by generalist staff, backups and restores of large VMs in seconds, 53 TB of logical data stored on just 1.2 TB of physical disk, 100% uptime since deployment, and expanded purchases to migrate more applications.
