A HPE Simplivity Case Study
Princess House, a leading online retailer of housewares and collectibles, was running aging Dell PowerEdge servers and EqualLogic storage in a single data center with four different backup tools. The fragmented infrastructure left fewer than 30% of virtual servers regularly protected, created long restore times that threatened business continuity, and caused performance and support issues for mission‑critical applications.
The company deployed SimpliVity OmniCube CN‑3000 hyperconverged systems in a 2+1 federation (two nodes on‑site, one in a remote colocation) to consolidate compute, storage, backup and replication. The result: five racks replaced by two 2U units, full protection for all applications with backups/restores completed in minutes (e.g., a 1.74 TB app restored in minutes), 69:1 data efficiency, improved application performance, lower TCO and simplified operations.
