Penobscot Community Health Care - Customer Case Study

Penobscot Community Health Care (PCHC), the largest federally qualified health center in Maine, was running an aging multivendor IT stack (HP servers, Dell Compellent storage) that was out of capacity and relied on local backups only. This put mission‑critical systems (GE Healthcare CPS EMR, Dentrix, SQL Server, Exchange, Citrix VDI, etc.) at risk, creating an urgent need to modernize infrastructure, improve availability and enable reliable disaster recovery.

PCHC replaced the legacy rack with SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure (four 2U nodes in the primary site plus two remote nodes), gaining built‑in replication, deduplication and fast VM cloning.
