Neil Medical Group, a long-term-care pharmacy services provider and medical supply distributor, faced an aging, multivendor IT environment that was performance-constrained, capacity-limited and reliant on tape-based backups. The team needed to modernize infrastructure, simplify operations, improve data protection and ensure high availability for mission-critical systems like Microsoft SQL Server, Exchange and its pharmacy management and workflow applications.

The group deployed SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure (OmniCube) across two data centers, replacing nearly three racks of legacy gear with five 2U units.
