Abba Technologies, a manufacturing IT provider, was running a five‑year‑old, end‑of‑life environment—9 ESXi hosts, fiber‑channel switches, two enterprise storage arrays (60TB and 24TB), multiple backup solutions and 7.5TB of off‑site dedup—resulting in management complexity, high OPEX and slow recovery. The company needed to modernize, consolidate two data centers and simplify operations while deciding between costly array upgrades or a unified new platform.

Abba implemented three HPE SimpliVity nodes (two in production, one offsite) to combine storage, backup and management under VMware vCenter; the system was operational in days and reduced RPO/RTO from days to minutes. The rollout delivered a 47:1 data efficiency ratio, about 50% performance improvement, 151TB capacity savings, lower maintenance/OPEX, simplified management for 20 VMs and enabled offering DR-as-a-Service to customers.
