HPE platforms drive data that can make the difference between winning or losing

Aston Martin Red Bull Racing, a leading Formula 1 team, faces the constant challenge of turning massive volumes of telemetry, CFD, wind‑tunnel and simulator data into race‑winning car changes in just days between events. To shave vital milliseconds from lap times the team needed an agile, high‑speed, space- and power‑efficient infrastructure that could deliver rapid processing both at the Milton Keynes factory and trackside.

In an Innovation Partnership with HPE the team deployed HPE Synergy, SimpliVity, Nimble Storage, Apollo with NVIDIA GPUs, Moonshot, HPE OneView and InfoSight plus Citrix virtual workspaces to accelerate CFD, post‑processing and data workflows and to provide a rugged mobile trackside data center. The result: post‑processing times fell by over 50%, storage was reduced from 42 TB to 5 TB through deduplication (≈3.2× capacity gain), system responsiveness improved by 79%, sub‑0.5 ms I/O latency was achieved, and the team gained faster, more reliable insights for race and car development decisions.
