Case Study: Fino Payments Bank achieves low-latency, high-throughput transactions with HPE SimpliVity

A HPE Simplivity Case Study

Preview of the Fino Payments Bank Case Study

Digital infrastructure allows India to deliver financial services to millions of citizens

Fino Payments Bank, launched in 2017, is a payments bank pioneering financial inclusion in India through a “phygital” mix of physical outlets and digital platforms, with about 70% of its network in rural and semi‑urban areas. Because payments banks cannot offer loans, Fino operates on thin margins and must run high-throughput, low‑latency transaction services at scale while meeting strict data‑privacy and regulatory requirements.

To meet that challenge Fino deployed HPE SimpliVity with HPE InfoSight (seven SimpliVity nodes and two compute nodes across Mumbai and Hyderabad) to create a self‑managed, self‑optimized, self‑healing environment with single‑pane visibility and AI‑driven operations. The solution delivers sub‑60‑second backups per 1 TB VM, rapid database replication and low latency for fraud management and customer apps, reducing infrastructure overhead, strengthening business continuity, enabling government COVID‑19 welfare payouts, and supporting sustained profit‑after‑tax growth (>43% QoQ in 2020).
