County Government Emergency Communications Center - Customer Case Study

The emergency communications center for a large U.S. county faced an aging, disjointed Dell-based IT environment that was costly, complex and risky to scale. The county needed to refresh legacy infrastructure and improve availability and disaster recovery for mission‑critical services including next‑gen 911, computer‑aided dispatch, Exchange and SQL Server.

The county deployed SimpliVity hyperconverged infrastructure—two nodes in the primary data center and a third in a remote DR site—replacing two racks of legacy gear and providing redundant, automated failover and rapid recovery. Since deployment the solution has delivered 100% uptime, about a 30% performance improvement for core dispatch applications, seamless VM failovers, and dramatically faster provisioning (minutes versus six weeks), boosting IT agility and reducing operational overhead.
