A HPE Simplivity Case Study
Oracle Red Bull Racing is a data-driven Formula One team that must turn thousands of data points and rapid design iterations into race-winning performance. Facing new technical regulations, cost caps and reduced wind-tunnel/aerodynamics test time, the team needed agile, high-performance IT both at its Milton Keynes campus and trackside to run compute‑intensive CFD, ingest high-speed imaging, and support split-second race weekend decisions.
Partnering with HPE and Citrix, Red Bull Racing deployed a software-defined, composable stack—HPE SimpliVity, Synergy, Apollo clusters, Nimble, Primera, OneView and InfoSight—packaged in a compact, water-cooled mobile data center for trackside and scaled infrastructure at the factory. The solution accelerated race-day postprocessing by 78% (from nine to two minutes), enabled faster design iterations, improved availability and efficiency, and reduced power, cooling and footprint costs to deliver quicker, more reliable insight on and off the track.
