Staples Australia Choose Nimble Storage for Flexible IT and Enterprise-Level Storage Performance

Staples Australia, part of global Staples Inc., supports core SAP systems and a high-volume ecommerce platform that handles over 80% of orders. Faced with rapidly shrinking capacity, high per-GB costs, administrative complexity and physical/power constraints in its disaster recovery site, the company needed to move away from a “one size fits all” storage model to a more flexible, cost-effective architecture.

Staples deployed two Nimble CS460 arrays and Nimble InfoSight, a cloud-based monitoring and support platform, which were simple to install and migrate to. The new hybrid flash-optimized solution enabled workload tiering, delivered equivalent performance at roughly 1/9th the cost per GB, reduced rack footprint by about 30x, simplified administration and improved data protection and recovery through snapshots and bare-metal restores.
