A HPE Nimble Storage Case Study
Oaks Christian School, an independent college-preparatory school serving grades 6–12, faced an aging server and storage environment as its on-campus population grew to about 1,500 students (plus an expanding online program). The IT team was experiencing storage latencies, expiring warranties on desktop and server hardware, and needed better, more cost‑effective access to applications for students, faculty, and staff.
OCS deployed Cisco UCS blade servers, Citrix XenDesktop/XenApp with provisioning services, and Nimble Storage CS240G arrays. The new platform tripled storage IOPS, cut login/boot times by about 33%, delivered high performance at roughly one‑fifth the cost of flash‑only alternatives, simplified snapshots and restores, reduced storage footprint (~7.94 TB saved), and enabled 200 virtual desktops—improving remote access and freeing IT staff for strategic work.
