Nimble Storage Solution Drives Performance Improvements At TECO

TECO Electric and Machinery’s Singapore arm, which supports subsidiary manufacturing across Southeast Asia, needed to refresh and simplify a complex IT environment running critical apps like SAP and MS‑SQL. During a scheduled hardware refresh the IT team chose to virtualize servers and deploy a Nimble SAN (CS220G and CS210 arrays) to consolidate storage, reduce management overhead and enable replication for disaster recovery.

The Nimble deployment was fast and delivered immediate gains: daily backups fell from almost 13 hours to under two hours using Nimble snapshots, the entire infrastructure is now replicated for DR, SAP response times improved by 60% to about 150 ms and DDIO latency dropped to below 1 ms. The solution also reduced storage maintenance, freed rack space for expansion, and provides proactive monitoring via Nimble’s InfoSight.
