Nimble Provides Storage Stitch in Time for Australia’s Largest Menswear Retailer

Retail Apparel Group (RAG) is Australia’s largest menswear retailer, operating brands such as Tarocash, yd., Connor and the newly launched Johnny Bigg across roughly 340 stores. With a small central IT team and a rapidly growing digital function, RAG faced a sudden spike in storage demand in 2014: their aging SAN was slowing critical business reports and nearing capacity, and their disaster‑recovery capabilities needed upgrading to support planned expansion.

RAG deployed two Nimble CS220G arrays (one production, one DR) with partner VCPro, allowing fast installation, SAN‑to‑SAN replication and integration with VMware Site Recovery Manager. The Nimble solution cut report runtimes to about two hours, simplified storage management so in‑house staff no longer rely on third‑party consultants, and delivered scalable, offsite DR and headroom to support future growth and new digital projects.
