A HPE Nimble Storage Case Study
Queensland Sugar Limited (QSL) represents seven major millers and about 4,000 Australian sugar growers, managing most of Australia’s raw sugar exports and operating six bulk sugar terminals. With a seven-site IT footprint and roughly 150 Citrix users relying on centralized storage, QSL was hampered by persistent storage latency and performance bottlenecks from its incumbent IBM arrays—even after attempted upgrades—which began to affect day-to-day operations.
QSL replaced the legacy kit with two Nimble CS460G arrays (head office and off-site) connected by a 10Gb link for real‑time replication, deployed alongside a Cisco UCS and implemented by partner NewBase with Nimble and Cisco support. The change eliminated performance complaints overnight, delivered over tenfold lower latency, halved rack space usage, and added robust replication for disaster resilience—backed by fast, proactive vendor support.
