Kanaly Trust Turns to Nimble Storage to Create Rock-Solid Disaster Recovery Environment

Kanaly Trust, a Houston-based fiduciary firm founded in 1975 that manages over $2.5 billion in client assets, needed a more reliable disaster recovery strategy and a scalable storage platform to support a largely virtualized environment. Their aging EqualLogic arrays were running out of capacity and offered very limited snapshot retention, leaving the company exposed to longer recovery windows—while budget constraints ruled out costly all‑flash alternatives.

Working with reseller Freeit, Kanaly Trust deployed Nimble Storage hybrid arrays and InfoSight analytics. The new solution increased snapshot retention to more than 45 days (with full replication to the DR site), enabled fast, rock-solid failover and failback, delivered near‑transparent firmware upgrades and stronger vendor support, and provided the performance and scalability needed to roll out VDI.
