Ideal Integrations is a Pittsburgh-based IT systems integrator (founded 2003, 43 employees) that provides cloud/IaaS and infrastructure services to clients ranging from start-ups to $2B+ companies. Rapid growth in demand exposed limits of its traditional SANs — the firm couldn’t scale IO and capacity independently, was facing rising per-IO and per-GB costs, and spent excessive time managing performance, capacity and billing for mixed workloads.

After a successful POC, Ideal deployed Nimble Storage CS460 hybrid arrays (one in production, one for DR), with a quick 2–3 hour install and strong engineering support. The arrays let the company scale IO and disk separately, cut storage costs, double customer snapshot retention at little-to-no extra charge, simplify service delivery, improve performance and reliability — and prompted orders for additional Nimble systems.
