Grant Thornton Deploys Nimble After Acquisition Makes Storage an Urgent Priority

Grant Thornton Australia, a large assurance, tax and advisory firm, experienced rapid growth after acquiring BDO in 2012, which added staff and offices and drove exponential data growth. Existing NetApp and EMC arrays could not meet the increased capacity, performance, reliability and disaster-recovery needs, creating an urgent storage challenge.

Grant Thornton consolidated six arrays into two Nimble CS460G-X2 10GbE systems (126 TB each) deployed by Cloud Solution Group, using Nimble snapshots and replication; the hardware shipped within 10 days and went live in hours. The new platform restored performance and reliability, sped file access, enabled seamless capacity expansion without downtime and improved recoverability, supporting the firm’s ongoing growth.
