Global Financial Review Makes the Smart Move to Nimble Storage Environment

Global Financial Review (GFR) is a Denver-based mortgage services firm that provides due diligence, analytics and SaaS applications to financial institutions and investors. As the company prepared for rapid contractor-driven growth and full virtualization, its hosted infrastructure produced severe storage performance problems (latencies from ~75ms up to 3,000ms) and offered little visibility, and GFR did not have budget or headcount to add dedicated storage specialists.

GFR evaluated several SAN vendors and chose Nimble Storage arrays with Nimble InfoSight for monitoring. The Nimble solution was deployed in days, supported GFR’s VMware/Citrix/SQL environment, and cut storage costs to less than half of competing proposals. Resulting latencies dropped to a typical 0–10ms with rare spikes under 35ms (roughly a 7x–10x improvement), visibility and support dramatically improved, and the firm avoided hiring a specialized storage administrator.
