Brightsource Bolsters Multi-Site Disaster Recovery and Solves Replication Throughput Issues with Nimble Storage

Brightsource is a UK-based marketing services and technology company with over 120 staff across three offices that was running out of capacity on HP hosts and EMC VNXe SANs. Large data-processing jobs, SAN throughput limits, replication that required copying a full 4.2 TB database for small changes, and storage configuration changes that forced 90‑minute restarts were causing latency, VM dropouts and unacceptable risk for its multi-site operations and disaster recovery.

Brightsource deployed two Nimble CS220G arrays and Nimble InfoSight after a successful POC that easily processed six million records; the new platform lets them set different RPOs per dataset, eliminates storage restarts for configuration changes, and reduced replication bandwidth from saturating a 20 Mb link to about 0.6 Mb. The result was faster, more efficient replication, improved application performance, simpler management and reporting, and markedly better vendor support.
