A HPE Nimble Storage Case Study
The Australian Institute of Management (AIM) NSW & ACT is a 70‑year‑old not‑for‑profit that trains managers and leaders, serving 6,500 individual and 800 corporate members with 95 staff across two locations. As part of a major technology transformation—virtualising 40 physical servers down to three, moving key applications to the cloud and rolling out 120 virtual desktops—AIM needed a reliable, scalable shared storage solution to enable secure backups, disaster recovery and future growth.
Working with reseller Nexus, AIM deployed two Nimble CS210 arrays in a replicated configuration. The solution delivered 40–50% space savings from compression, shrank a full rack to 6RU with significant power savings, and cost about 30% less than competitors while including software and support. Nimble’s fast setup, easy scaling and InfoSight proactive monitoring improved performance, ensured reliable local copies of cloud data (e.g., Salesforce) and gave AIM the capacity and confidence to merge chapters, move premises and expand its services.
