A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Grecotel, a leading Greek hotel operator with 32 luxury hotels and resorts (about 4% of 4- and 5‑star bookings in Greece), needed a consistent, high‑performance wireless infrastructure to protect guest experience and drive repeat business across vast and varied properties. Individual hotels had built local networks that delivered uneven coverage across beaches, wooded areas and large resorts, so the group sought a single, reliable platform to support guests, staff and IoT services without disrupting operations.
Grecotel deployed Aruba’s Mobile First Architecture — more than 4,000 indoor/outdoor access points, campus switches and virtual controllers — and launched a universal guest portal. The unified network supports 6,000 staff and over 18,000 concurrent guests, IPTV/VoIP, BYOD and IoT, cut ordering times by 15%, improved maintenance response by 20% (saving about 15,000 man‑hours a year), boosted housekeeping efficiency, and enabled personalized services and future smart‑hotel features.
