Wi-Fi Enabling the Warehouse for Stock Management and Traceability

Spadel, a mineral water producer with six production sites across four countries, needed reliable wireless connectivity to support its SAP‑driven traceability and real‑time stock management. The company faced the challenge of providing robust Wi‑Fi across production floors, warehouses, loading areas and Wi‑Fi‑enabled forklifts and automated storage systems while ensuring resilience, performance and seamless integration with industrial handhelds and ERP.

Spadel implemented an Aruba controller‑based solution — three Aruba 3600 controllers and roughly 150 access points (indoor and outdoor), directional antennas, ARM tuning and a local‑breakthrough failover architecture — delivered by a trusted network integrator with vendor support. The deployment secured end‑to‑end traceability, reliable real‑time stock management and automated logistics, increased productivity and ensured deliveries stay on schedule; BYOD integration is being evaluated for a later phase.
