A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Westmark School, a leading Los Angeles independent school for students with language‑based learning differences, depends on iPads, SMART Boards and video streaming for instruction and parent communications. Its aging, multi‑vendor wired and wireless network caused frequent downtime, poor video performance, no QoS or PoE for access points, limited uplinks, and an unmanageable setup for a very small IT team — forcing the school to find a scalable, easy‑to‑manage infrastructure that would meet needs for the next five to seven years.
Westmark replaced its network with Brocade VDX core switches and ICX edge switches integrated with Aruba 802.11ac wireless and AirWave management; the system was preconfigured, cut over in two days, and uses PoE+, stacking and a 10 GbE‑ready foundation. The new campus network delivers low‑latency, high‑throughput video and cloud app support, simplifies management, sped deployment, and gives the school scalable, reliable infrastructure to support expanded media and learning services.
