Utah Jazz fire up fans and guests with immersive indoor and outdoor digital experiences

Salt Lake City–based LHM Sports & Entertainment, which runs 19 venues including the 18,306-seat Vivint Smart Home Arena (home of the Utah Jazz), needed a simple, scalable way to deliver secure, high-density mobile experiences indoors and outdoors. Key challenges included overhead Wi‑Fi deployment, seamless guest engagement (real‑time sharing, wayfinding, notifications), mobilized operations for staff and vendors, and a solution easy for a lean IT team to manage with experienced arena engineering support.

The organization deployed Aruba indoor and outdoor Wi‑Fi, ClearPass for authentication and policy, AirWave for management, beacons for location analytics, Meridian for app services, and partnered with M S Benbow & Associates. The result: reliable connectivity that drives live social sharing and selfies, a mobile app that reaches thousands with promotions and upgrades, mobile point-of-sale across concourses and the arena floor, and improved staff safety and productivity through mobilized maintenance and secure access across all locations.
