A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The University of Redlands, a private nonprofit founded in 1907 serving about 3,400 students across a 160-acre main campus and a northern Marin campus, needed to modernize a heterogeneous, hard-to-manage Wi‑Fi infrastructure to support personalized, experiential learning and seamless outdoor mobility. With growing use of IoT, AR/VR and other immersive technologies—and a lean IT team—the university sought a unified, secure solution that wouldn’t add administrative burden.
Redlands deployed HPE Aruba Networking Wi‑Fi 6E indoor and rugged outdoor access points, CX switching, and AI-powered tools (Aruba Central, UXI and ClearPass in Azure), plus hospitality APs in residence halls. The upgrade delivered fast, campus‑wide connectivity (including 160 acres outdoors), enabled immersive academic use, cut troubleshooting from days to minutes, drove student Wi‑Fi satisfaction to nearly zero complaints, and reduced residence hall implementation costs by about 80%.
