A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The University of Findlay, a 3,700‑student institution in Ohio, was facing a surge in BYOD traffic—students typically bring three to four wireless devices each—and needed to improve Wi‑Fi capacity, security and manageability to support classroom learning and residential use across campus.
Findlay deployed Aruba’s WLAN (APs and AirWave), Mobility Access Switches and the ClearPass Access Management System to unify wired and wireless access, centralize policies and enable role‑based AAA. The change cut VLANs from 40 to 14, simplified edge switch management and troubleshooting, delivered more consistent classroom and dorm Wi‑Fi experiences, strengthened security for institutional and guest devices, and positioned the campus to scale to 802.11ac and future needs.
