A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Széchenyi István University in Hungary, a growing international higher-education institution serving about 15,000 students, needed to modernize wired and wireless infrastructure across its city-wide campuses. Rapid growth had left disparate network technologies; the IT team required consistent, high-quality wireless, secure management of a constantly mobile user base, and easier integration of open-source tools plus IoT and Industry 4.0 capabilities to support digital teaching, research and industry partnerships.
The university deployed a unified Aruba wired-and-wireless architecture—APs, Mobility Conductor, controllers and campus switches—centrally managed with AirWave and using Zero Touch provisioning and deployment templates. The result: Wi‑Fi rollouts shrank from days to hours, visibility and security of users/devices improved, open-source integration was simplified, and the campus gained a resilient, scalable, future-ready network that supports digital learning, sensors and stronger industry collaboration.
