Tottenham Hotspur leverages data insights to boost fan engagement

Tottenham Hotspur transformed its new stadium into a smart, connected venue designed to deliver an unforgettable, mobile-first match day for more than 3 million annual visitors. The club’s challenge was to embed technology across a 1.3 million sq ft, multiuse arena to improve fan experience, safety and operational efficiency—supporting everything from wayfinding and digital ticketing to flexible event configurations and real‑time decision making.

Working with HPE, Spurs deployed an end‑to‑end digital platform—Aruba networking and beacons, HPE GreenLake, ProLiant and Apollo servers with Scality RING, NFC ticketing and a club app—so data is processed at the edge to power cashless payments, location services and analytics. The result: 100% connectivity for 62,000 people, a rise to 95% fan satisfaction (from 52%), real‑time sales insights, faster service (85k+ transactions during an NFL game), capacity for 40,000 concurrent HD livestreams, and roughly 50% energy savings in office storage operations—turning the stadium into a flexible, revenue‑driving destination.
