A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The Independent Institute of Education (The IIE), South Africa’s largest higher‑education group, needed to modernize its campus networks to meet growing digital demands: seamless voice‑over‑Wi‑Fi, lecturer presentation over Wi‑Fi, high BYOD density, flipped‑classroom capability, 10Gbps backbone and higher end‑user throughput, reduced cabling, Bluetooth beaconing, robust bandwidth and interference management, and support for graphic‑intensive applications — all backed by an education‑sector experienced partner.
The IIE chose Aruba Networks technology with Khipu Networks as the managed‑service partner. Khipu delivered an end‑to‑end solution (Wi‑Fi, fixed network, ClearPass, security and managed services), carefully deployed APs for full campus coverage and dynamic offload, and implemented VoWLAN and a high‑capacity graphic‑rendering venue with HP. The result: almost 100% wireless coverage, improved collaboration and teaching flexibility, lower call costs, freed IT resources, reliable uptime and an outcome that exceeded expectations.
