A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Enköping Municipality, which serves about 3,500 staff and 8,000 students, faced a fragmented and rapidly growing Wi‑Fi estate—multiple vendor networks and stand‑alone access points across schools, offices and other locations that lacked central control and visibility. The IT team needed a single, centrally managed wireless system to support classrooms, municipal services and remote working reliably and securely.
They implemented an Aruba solution—roughly 700 APs across 60 locations managed by three Aruba 7210 controllers over a Gigabit fibre WAN, with Aruba AirWave for monitoring, ClearPass and RADIUS for secure onboarding, and 50 RAPs for simple home access. The deployment consolidated disparate networks, sped up problem resolution, lowered support costs, enabled secure BYOD and remote work, and delivered a stable, scalable platform for future upgrades.
