A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the CELSA Group Case Study

Steel giant strengthens global collaboration through transformative SD-Branch project

CELSA Group, a Barcelona-based industrial leader and the second-largest recycler in Europe, operates 70 recycling plants, factories and offices across the continent. Facing high MPLS costs, slow updates and inconsistent SLAs, the company needed a secure, reliable and easy-to-manage network to cut connectivity costs, speed up onboarding of acquisitions and improve access to cloud applications for a dispersed workforce.

CELSA deployed an Aruba SD-Branch/SD‑WAN architecture—including Aruba Central, 9004 Branch and 7000 headend gateways, CX switches and Wi‑Fi 6 APs—to replace MPLS with high-performance internet links in an active‑active, bandwidth‑aggregating design with secure local breakout and unified management. The rollout delivered roughly 40% cost savings, higher and more consistent performance, faster application deployment and better cloud collaboration, while laying the groundwork for Industry 4.0 initiatives and a consumption‑based networking model.
