Sienna Senior Living, one of Canada’s largest senior-care operators with about 12,000 employees serving roughly 11,500 residents, was rapidly expanding and needed a scalable, secure, cloud-ready network that could be deployed quickly and managed by a lean IT team. The company sought to mobilize point-of-care systems, simplify caregiving devices, provide residents with reliable mobile connectivity, and support IoT and regulatory requirements across new sites.

Sienna deployed an Aruba Wi‑Fi and switching solution—over 4,000 Instant Access Points, Aruba Central for cloud management and ClearPass for authentication and policy enforcement—which enabled fast, plug-and-play rollouts (about a dozen distributed locations in under a day), delivered exceptional mobile experiences to residents and guests, consolidated multiple traditional devices into iPad-based apps, supported smart building IoT, and let a single IT staffer manage the entire network while improving care delivery and quality of life.
