A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Kent Public Service Network (KPSN) led Kent’s rollout of Govroam to give 16 public-sector organisations secure, single‑sign‑on wireless access across a patchwork of existing, multivendor networks. The challenge was to enable roaming for up to 30,000 staff without replacing local infrastructure, while unifying authentication and policy control across councils, health centres, police, fire services and other sites.
Working with Khipu Networks, KPSN deployed a two‑tier RADIUS architecture and Aruba ClearPass Policy Manager to deliver agentless visibility, dynamic role‑based access and consistent policy enforcement. The solution now covers 475 sites and supports about 20,000 users per week, reducing infrastructure duplication and management costs, improving business continuity and multi‑agency collaboration, and creating a platform for future IoT and service consolidation.
