A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Zurich University of Teacher Education (PHZH), Switzerland’s largest teacher-training institution with 4,000 full‑time students and thousands of visiting teachers, needed a mobile‑first campus to support modern digital teaching methods. The university sought a reliable, scalable network with strong security and simpler onboarding for diverse devices, users and applications to deliver a consistent, “at‑home” experience across four buildings and high‑density lecture halls.
PHZH implemented an HPE Aruba networking architecture—cloud management with Aruba Central, Wi‑Fi 6 access points, CX switches, 7200 mobility controllers, ClearPass policy manager and Dynamic Segmentation—deployed with local partner Softec. The upgrade delivered seamless campus Wi‑Fi, simplified device and guest onboarding, role‑based zero‑trust access (50 roles defined), stronger security and IoT segregation, improved performance and a clear roadmap for ongoing innovation while upskilling the in‑house network team.
