ProMedica, a not‑for‑profit integrated healthcare system serving communities in 30 states with more than 60,000 employees, 2,600 clinicians, 13 hospitals and 400+ senior care facilities, needed always‑on, highly reliable connectivity to support caregiver workflows, secure guest access and a growing array of IoT medical devices (RTLS infant security, infusion pumps, WoW carts, mobile EHR and communications). The organization required zero downtime for patient‑safety systems, outdoor coverage across campuses, and a future‑ready platform for tracking and monitoring.

ProMedica deployed Aruba indoor and outdoor Wi‑Fi, ClearPass for authentication and policy enforcement, AirWave for management and NetSight for analytics. The solution securely connects about 14,000 devices daily, extends connectivity across parking and campus areas, is maintainable by a single primary wireless engineer, and has improved patient experience and safety by enabling secure, efficient access to patient data and reducing manual data entry.
