Case Study: Edmonton Public Schools achieves faster troubleshooting and improved classroom network experience with HPE Aruba Networking

A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study

Preview of the Edmonton Public Schools Case Study

One of the largest school divisions in Canada drives the education experience with intelligent edge services from Aruba

Edmonton Public Schools, one of the largest public school divisions in Canada with about 106,000 students across 238 sites, depended on digital tools for everyday teaching but faced intermittent network issues and limited staffing (about 10 network specialists). The division needed 24/7 monitoring, historical data for troubleshooting, and stronger traffic segmentation to secure BYOD and IoT devices while maintaining performance for essential learning applications.

Partnering with Aruba and ACSI, the district deployed Aruba Wi‑Fi 6 AP‑515/510 access points, CX 8360 switches, Aruba UXI (55 sensors), ClearPass, and AirWave. AI‑driven UXI enabled proactive incident detection and reduced intermittent troubleshooting from weeks to hours, ClearPass plus network segmentation strengthened BYOD/IoT security, and AirWave location intelligence accelerated dispatch—collectively improving classroom network experience, saving staff time, and enabling scalable cloud adoption.
