A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
VASP, Portugal’s largest printed-news distributor serving 7,000 shops and expanding into book and parcel delivery, needed to modernize its nationwide operations. The company required a centrally managed, high-performance network across 15 distribution centres and offices with uninterrupted indoor/outdoor Wi‑Fi, reliable tracking of valuable reusable containers and material-handling equipment, support for robotics and IoT, a repeatable deployment template, and measurable sustainability improvements.
Using Aruba’s cloud-managed platform (Wi‑Fi 6 APs, switches, ClearPass, Aruba Central), BLE asset tags and Meridian location services, VASP deployed Zero-Touch networks and end-to-end asset tracking across warehouses and its 600 delivery vans. The rollout increased operational certainty and security, cut deployment time and IT effort, enabled rapid integration of new applications, reduced single-use plastic film by 12.4 km/month, and created a scalable foundation to offer logistics-as-a-service and adopt wearables and robotics.
