A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The Netherlands Cancer Institute (NKI) in Amsterdam is a leading cancer centre combining world-class research and specialist patient care. Facing exponential data growth and the need to support both clinical mobility and large-scale research workflows, IT leadership needed a single, highly secure and easily managed network that could segment diverse systems and deliver high performance for researchers and clinicians alike.
Working with Aruba and partner Deltics, NKI implemented a software-defined Aruba Edge and Mobile First architecture across its campus and data centres—combining core/distribution/edge switches, 1,000+ Aruba access points, mobility controllers, ClearPass access control, AirWave management and HPE FlexFabric in the DC, plus a VMware VDI environment. The result is simplified, secure data sharing and faster access to critical information for clinicians, seamless collaboration for research teams handling massive datasets, support for 2,000 virtual desktops, and a scalable platform for IoT and future digital innovation.
