A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Mount Waverley Secondary College, a junior and senior campus in Victoria serving 1,850 students, needed a high‑capacity, reliable wireless network to support a major iPad rollout and a growing mix of tablets, laptops and desktops—eventually totaling around 4,000 devices—while being managed by a four‑person IT team. Classrooms regularly require simultaneous connectivity for dozens of devices, so the school sought a scalable mobility solution that would deliver seamless, secure Wi‑Fi and reduce support overhead.
The college deployed Aruba’s 802.11ac solution—80 access points, two Aruba 3600 controllers and AirWave management—installed largely remotely in two days. The network supported 1,450 iPads on day one with no glitches, now handles about 4,000 devices, significantly cut support requests, and gives the IT team centralized visibility and proactive control, resulting in faster, more reliable connectivity that enhances teaching and learning.
