A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Mid-South Synergy is a non-profit rural utility cooperative supplying electricity, water, wastewater and Internet to over 31,000 customers across six counties (about 4,200 sq mi). The co-op needed to reduce IT workload and network downtime, secure and manage growing IoT and user devices, and extend reliable wireless connectivity to field technicians and service trucks while keeping the infrastructure scalable and easy to manage.
They deployed an Aruba solution centered on 8400 core switches with ClearPass for authentication and policy enforcement and AirWave for centralized management. The new, programmable, self‑healing network cut troubleshooting from days or weeks to minutes, reduced device onboarding from hours to seconds, provided an always‑on, jitter‑free VoIP-capable Wi‑Fi during outages, and improved operational efficiency and IoT support.
