A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
MST Twente is a 750‑bed specialist hospital in the Netherlands that set out to create a hotel‑like, patient‑centric healing environment while operating under annual budget cuts. With a long‑standing “IT‑only” strategy, the hospital needed a scalable, highly reliable and easy‑to‑manage network to enable mobile caregivers, pervasive Wi‑Fi and just‑in‑time care across an 80,000 m² site.
MST deployed 1,600 Aruba 802.11ac access points, three mobility controllers, three ClearPass 25k appliances and Aruba AirWave for unified wired/wireless management and security. The network supports in‑room iPads, Computers on Wheels, nurse panic/location services and remote door locks, improved clinical data sharing and specialist collaboration, launched with no technical issues, and delivered better patient experience and operational efficiencies that help reduce length of stay and enable future services.
