A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
The Edmonton Public Library (EPL), a 21‑branch system with 700 staff serving 14.2 million visitors annually, needed to modernize aging wired and wireless infrastructure as it transformed into a leading digital and interactive destination. EPL required a flexible, future‑ready network to support more than 10,000 daily devices, heavy Wi‑Fi usage exceeding 30 TB per month, sub‑10 millisecond response for large interactive exhibits, and centralized automation and location‑aware capabilities—all while lowering operating costs.
EPL deployed an end‑to‑end Aruba ESP solution (Wi‑Fi 6 APs, controllers and CX switching, AirWave, User Experience Insight, and Aruba Central AIOps) with local partner Microserve, achieving fast, straightforward rollout. The new network delivers exceptional experiences for 10,000+ daily devices, meets 30+ TB/month demand, powers The Wall’s sub‑10 ms interactions, enables future location and accessibility services, provides cloud‑based automated management, and cut licensing and product costs by about 33%.
