La Receta company, with its leading brands il forno and Wajaca, improved customer experience and while expanding restaurant and retail operations in Colombia

La Receta Cia S.A.S., a Medellín‑based food retail company behind brands like Il Forno and Wajaca, operates 50 locations in Colombia with 900+ employees. Faced with poor in‑restaurant connectivity that stalled service with as few as 30 devices, the company needed to simplify administration, centrally manage infrastructure, and deliver a reliable customer Wi‑Fi experience while supporting phone sales and food‑delivery apps.

La Receta deployed Aruba 300 series APs, Aruba SD‑WAN (Gateways 9004/7030) and Aruba Central, plus Purple for customer analytics. The new network improved branch communication and non‑blocking Wi‑Fi, increased bandwidth, enabled remote operations during the pandemic, and scaled phone and delivery sales (expanding delivery platforms from 1 to 8). They captured data on 90,000 customers, doubled agent capacity with tablet order taking, and positioned the business to grow to 80 restaurants.
