Klein ISD advances education with eLearning, wayfinding and simplified IoT management

Klein Independent School District, a metro‑Houston district serving 53,000 students across nearly 50 schools, needed an always‑on, scalable network to support personalized, interactive learning, mobile wayfinding in its new 665,000 sq. ft. high school, and secure connectivity for thousands of IoT devices such as Echo Dots, IP cameras and HVAC systems.

By deploying Aruba Meridian, 4,700 location‑ready indoor/outdoor access points, beacons, ClearPass and AirWave, Klein created an easy‑to-manage, location‑enabled network that unified user and IoT access. The solution delivered immediate impact—nearly 1,000 people used wayfinding on day one, the network supports ~18,000 daily users and 3–4 TB of traffic, enabled new digital learning tools and consolidated building automation while streamlining management of thousands of devices.
