Kelsey-Seybold Modernizes Healthcare With Aruba .11ac

Kelsey-Seybold Clinic, a 2,800-employee, physician-owned practice with 385 providers across 20 Houston-area clinics, needed a modern, secure and scalable wireless infrastructure to support thousands of patients and a highly mobile workforce. CTO/CISO Martin Littmann launched an upgrade to 802.11ac to deliver gigabit performance, stronger security, simplified onboarding and reduced IT overhead while ensuring reliable connectivity for clinical apps and patient use.

The clinic deployed Aruba 802.11ac AP‑215 access points, ClientMatch and AppRF intelligence, plus ClearPass for access management and AirWave for network visibility, increasing AP coverage by about a third. The solution delivers seamless roaming, segmented networks for corporate/BYOD/guest access with bandwidth controls, faster troubleshooting and granular performance insights—enabling mobile EMR use, improved operational efficiency and a secure, future-ready patient experience.
