A HPE Aruba Networking Case Study
Karunya University, a fully residential engineering and technology university in Coimbatore, India (about 7,200 students and ranked among the top 15 private universities), needed to extend Wi‑Fi across classrooms, hostels and public areas to support digital lectures, online exams and multimedia learning. Its legacy Cisco fat‑AP network lacked the bandwidth, security and manageability to sustain peak loads and expanding e‑learning requirements.
Karunya replaced the legacy WLAN with an Aruba solution—one Aruba 6000 Mobility Controller, roughly 365 Aruba access points and Aruba’s Policy Enforcement Firewall—deployed with Adaptive Radio Management features. The upgrade delivered the high performance and scalability needed for bursty online exams, stronger identity‑based security, and much more efficient management by a small IT team, and it now underpins the university’s campus expansion and interactive learning initiatives.
